Selling a home is a business process that requires multiple parties and services including financing, home inspectiontitle insurance, etc. The goal of bids and offers is to reach a clear, legally binding agreement between buyers and sellers of a home. 

Here are some guidelines you should follow, as a seller:

  • Do not personally contact the buyer. Let your realtor do the negotiating.
  • Offer a reasonable price. Check out comparable home's prices, discuss the matter with your agent - pricing goes a long way in determining how quickly your home will sell.
  • Look at all offers seriously.
  • Avoid getting offended when the buyer's offer is lower than your price. You can always negotiate or reject the offer. If you have multiple offers, keep in mind that the highest bidder isn't always the best option. Money is money, but some terms in another offer may be more important.
